IPL 2025: BCCI Alerts IPL Teams About Suspicious Hyderabad Businessman

IPL 2025: BCCI Alerts IPL Teams About Suspicious Hyderabad BusinessmanThe BCCI has warned everyone involved with the IPL about attempts to get people involved in corrupt activities, according to a report in Cricbuzz. The board has already alerted franchise owners, players, support staff, and even commentators that a businessman with a questionable background might try to contact them.

The Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU) seems to believe that a businessman from Hyderabad, with clear links to punters, bookies and past and proven records of involvement in corrupt activities, is trying to befriend participants. The ACSU has urged all IPL stakeholders to report any interactions with the businessman and also disclose any possible connections or engagements with him.

ACSU Warns of Fake Fan Targeting IPL Players with Gifts

The Anti-Corruption Unit (ACSU) has reportedly advised everyone involved in the league to be careful. Teams and individuals have been told to stay alert and immediately report any suspicious behavior or approaches. The person in question is believed to try and trap people by offering costly gifts, like expensive jewellery, to gain their trust.

The person being talked about is said to be trying to get close to IPL players by pretending to be just a regular fan. He has been seen hanging around team hotels and attending matches, trying to become friendly with players and staff. He's also been inviting some of them to private parties. On top of that, there are reports that he's been giving gifts not just to the players, but also to their families.

The report further suggests that there have been attempts from this individual to contact the relatives of the players or coaches living abroad, through social media platforms.
