ICC Test Rankings Update: Shubman Gill Back in ICC Test Top 10, Bumrah Stays No.1 as Starc Closes In

ICC Test Rankings Update: Shubman Gill Back in ICC Test Top 10, Bumrah Stays No.1 as Starc Closes In

[ Poll: QyEmKWy6 ]

Shubman Gill is back in the top ten of the latest ICC Test batting rankings. The India Test and ODI captain had dropped to 11th place earlier after missing the India vs South Africa Test series because of a neck injury. After his exploits against England and the West Indies, Gill had emerged as India’s highest-ranked batter, with Yashasvi Jaiswal just behind.

Gill back in top 10, Bumrah stays No. 1 as Starc closes in

Gill dropped out of the rankings because he missed the home series against South Africa, and Alex Carey’s excellent performance in the 2025–26 Ashes pushed him down. But he’s back in the top ten after just a week. Carey has dropped from 9 to 13, which has seen Gill come to the 10th position once again.

Jasprit Bumrah is still the No. 1 bowler in the ICC Test rankings with 879 points. But Australia’s Mitchell Starc is now very close behind him. The Australian quick has taken 28 wickets in 4 matches against England and moved to number two. He’s just 26 rating points behind Bumrah and will further make up the rankings in the final Ashes Test in Sydney.
