T20 World Cup 2026 has been hit by two injury setbacks, with Zimbabwe and Ireland both losing key players during the tournament in India and Sri Lanka. Zimbabwe’s wicketkeeper-batter Brendan Taylor has been ruled out of the remaining matches due to a hamstring injury.

He picked up the injury during Zimbabwe’s first match against Oman while batting. Taylor had already taken three catches before he was forced to leave the field. Tadiwanashe Marumani will now keep wickets, while Tony Munyonga has been added to the team for the match against Australia.

Ireland have also suffered a blow, as captain Paul Stirling has been ruled out with a knee ligament injury. He was injured during Ireland’s group match against Australia. Young batter Sam Topping has been named as his replacement for the rest of the tournament.
