Daren Sammy Deems Alzarri Joseph's On-Field Conduct 'Unacceptable' in West Indies vs England ODI
West Indies head coach Daren Sammy has publicly called out fast bowler Alzarri Joseph's conduct during the decisive third ODI against England, labeling it as "unacceptable". The incident occurred in Bridgetown when Joseph, visibly upset over a disagreement with captain Shai Hope regarding field placement, left the pitch unannounced after his fourth over, causing West Indies to play an over with only ten fielders. Joseph's frustration was evident as he did not celebrate after dismissing Jordan Cox caught behind. He returned for the sixth over but his bowling was sporadic, leaving the field again after two misfields led to England gaining two runs through overthrows. Despite these interruptions, Joseph finished with figures of 2 for 45 from his 10 overs.

Sammy, known for his man-management skills and instrumental in bringing players like Andre Russell and Evin Lewis back to international cricket, stated to TalkSPORT, "Behaviour like that is unacceptable on my cricket field. We will be friends…but in the culture I'm trying to build, that's unacceptable. We will definitely have a chat about that." West Indies emerged victorious in the ODI series, winning 2-1, and are set to face England in a five-match T20 series with the return of key players like Nicholas Pooran and Akeal Hosein, as hinted by Sammy.
