CSK vs MI vs RCB: Which IPL Team Has the Biggest Fan Base After IPL 2025? - Updated

CSK vs MI vs RCB: Which IPL Team Has the Biggest Fan Base After IPL 2025? - Updated

After the exciting action in the recent edition of the Indian Premier League, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru became the champions for the first time, we see an increase in their fan following. But does this change make it the franchise with the largest fan base in the IPL? This is something we will explore in this article as we dig deep into which team has the biggest fan base among RCB, CSK, and MI.

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings, the five-time champions of the Indian Premier League, have one of the biggest fan bases in the tournament. The CSK fan base, also known as the Whistle Podu Army, has a large presence on social media. On Instagram, there are a total of 18.8 million followers on the team’s page, while the team has 14 million followers on its Facebook page, along with 10.9 million on the X (formerly Twitter) account. This totals 43.7 million followers across the team’s different social media accounts. However, CSK's performance in the recent couple of seasons has not met expectations, with the team finishing in the lower part of the points table. Let's see how many followers RCB and MI have below.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians, another five-time champion, also have a large number of supporters spread all over the country and even worldwide. Mumbai Indians, which had the dream phase, winning five trophies in the span of eight years, have not performed well in recent seasons. Not only do they have five trophies, but the team also includes players like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav, which makes them one of the most loved teams. Mumbai Indians have 18.4 million followers on Instagram, making them one of the teams with the largest fan followings on social media. On Facebook, the team has over 15 million followers, along with 8.3 million followers on Twitter. In total, the Mumbai Indians have a fan following of 41.7 million, although they lose to CSK in terms of fanbase size.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which has one of the most loyal fan bases among different franchises worldwide, has something unique about it: despite never winning the trophy, the sacredness of the love between fans and their team remains untouched. RCB fans finally enjoyed the moments they had always waited for, just ten days ago, when RCB won the IPL for the first time ever in history, defeating Punjab Kings in the final of IPL 2025. Now, looking at the different social media pages of RCB, we see that RCB has 21.9 million followers on Instagram, 11 million followers on Facebook, and 7.5 million followers on Twitter, totalling 40.4 million, which places them below CSK and MI. Despite gaining more popularity and a larger fan following after winning the cup, RCB still couldn't surpass the two most successful teams in IPL history, Chennai and Mumbai.
