
Champions Trophy Stars Iyer, Ravindra & Duffy Nominated for ICC Player of the Month Award for March
India’s star batter Shreyas Iyer, along with New Zealand pair Rachin Ravindra and Jacob Duffy, has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March. Iyer was instrumental in bolstering India’s middle order during their victorious ICC Champions Trophy 2025 run last month.
The right-handed batter scored 172 runs in three ODIs in March, averaging 57.33 with a strike rate of 77.47, ending as India’s leading run-scorer in the tournament. Iyer’s efforts were crucial to India’s flawless campaign. His top score of 79 came against New Zealand in their Group A fixture, while he also scored 45 against Australia in the semi-final and 48 in the final against New Zealand aiding India in clinching the title.
New Zealand Stars Ravindra and Duffy Steal the Spotlight in March
Rachin Ravindra showed great all-round skills as New Zealand made it to the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He scored 151 runs in three matches at an average of 50.33 and a strong strike rate of 106.33. He also took three wickets while keeping things tight with the ball giving away just 4.66 runs per over.
His best moment came in the semi-final against South Africa he hit a brilliant 108 runs. He and Kane Williamson added 164 runs together helping New Zealand post the highest total ever in Champions Trophy history. Ravindra also bowled well throughout the tournament taking a wicket in each match and keeping the pressure on the batters.
New Zealand fast bowler Jacob Duffy had an amazing month in March, especially during the five-match T20I series at home against Pakistan. He was the top wicket-taker in the series grabbing 13 wickets at a brilliant average of 8.38 and an economy rate of just 6.17. His strong performances helped New Zealand win the series 4-1.
Duffy’s best moments came in the first and fourth matches. He took a career-best 4 wickets for just 14 runs in Christchurch and followed it up with another 4/20 in Mount Maunganui. His consistent form made it really hard for Pakistan's batters to score against him and he was rewarded by climbing to the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings.
