BCCI Issues Notice to Romi Bhinder, RR Manager Clarifies Phone Use During a Medical Emergency and Hospitalisation

Rajasthan Royals manager Romi Bhinder has been issued with a notice regarding the mobile phone case. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is conducting investigations. Sources revealed that a medical emergency could be the cause.

BCCI Probes Romi Bhinder Phone Use, Medical Emergency Angle Emerges

In the last match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati, Romi Bhinder was spotted using his phone in the dugout. This contravenes IPL rules. According to the rules, managers can only use their phones in the dressing rooms, not in the dugout. Only the team analyst can use phones in the dugout.

According to The New Indian Express news source, BCCI's ACSU has given Romi Bhinder 48 hours to respond. According to IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal, the board has sought an official report from Romi Bhinder.

It was reported that Romi Bhinder had some health complications before. These include a collapsed lung and a prolonged hospital stay. He reportedly lost more than 10 kilos and suffers from asthma. This makes it very hard for him to walk and climb stairs. He was not on the call but checking his mobile phone.

It all became much worse when a video clip emerged of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi using his phone while standing in the dugout. He apparently has to take many steps and even climb stairs to get to the dressing room. Perhaps this is why he uses his phone in the dugout.
