AB de Villiers Suggests Four Key Picks for RCB in 2025 IPL Mega Auction

The IPL 2025 mega auction is scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With prominent players like Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul not retained for the 18th season, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is reportedly eyeing Rahul and Pant for their squad, seeking a world-class wicketkeeper and captain.

However, AB de Villiers, a former RCB stalwart, has advised the team to pursue a different strategy. He emphasized the importance of securing a top-notch spinner and recommended Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin. Additionally, he mentioned Kagiso Rabada, who was not retained by Punjab Kings, and expressed his desire to see Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the RCB jersey after his release from Sunrisers Hyderabad.

"Securing a world-class spinner should be the top priority. Yuzi Chahal is a natural fit for RCB, and we should consider his RR teammate Ravichandran Ashwin as well. Kagiso Rabada is a no-brainer," de Villiers remarked.

"I also advocate for Bhuvneshwar Kumar. These are my four picks, and I would allocate most of the budget to acquire them. With Yuzi Chahal, KG Rabada, Bhuvi Kumar, and Ravi Ashwin, we can build a formidable squad. Any remaining funds can go towards additional players."
