Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) SWOT Analysis for 2025
Strengths:
The strongest strength of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025 is the batting line-up. This side has a number of hard-hitters who can win games for their team single-handedly.
In the top order, they have Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Ishan Kishan, all of whom provide solid foundations. Similarly, their middle order is pretty robust, featuring stars like Nitish Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen. Additional benefit would come from a winning mental setup of their captain Pat Cummins, and this shall remain one of the largest strengths for them during this upcoming season.
Weakness:
Even with the mega auction, SRH does not have any star T20 bowler in their squad for IPL 2025. There are decent bowlers available to them, but there is not a single player who they can bank on in tight situations.
For example, if there is a need to defend 10 runs in the last over, there's no one in the entire squad who seems to walk into the last over and get it done. It may present a problem for SRH in such tight matches without a tried and tested match winning bowler.
Opportunities:
Sunrisers Hyderabad's spin bowling is a big opportunity for the team in IPL 2025. In the mega auction, SRH picked up some quality spinners like Rahul Chahar and experienced Australian bowler Adam Zampa, who have been known to perform on spin-friendly tracks.
Besides, Harshal Patel adds versatility to the side and can play key innings for Nitish Reddy when required. Thus, these factors make an opportunity for SRH to capitalize on conditions favorable for spin and make the entire performance stronger.
Threats:
At first glance, the squad of Sunrisers Hyderabad for IPL 2025 seems well-balanced with few apparent threats. A huge risk, however, is attached to their main pacer Mohammad Shami.
Shami is returning to competitive cricket аfter almost a year-long injury layoff. If he gets injured again during the tournament, then it will significantly impact the bowling strength of the team, which would pose a huge threаt to the campaign of SRH.
