Zimbabwe’s cricket team has faced a crisis from 2003 to 2011 due to player withdrawals and a general strike, resulting in poor performances. In 2020, the International Cricket Council suspended Zimbabwe for failing to provide a process for free and democratic elections and failing to ensure no government interference in its governance.
