The 2025-26 Sheffield Shield season ran from October 4 2025 to March 29 2026, featuring 31 matches across Australia's six state teams. South Australia created history by successfully defending their title for the first time in 133 years, defeating Victoria by 56 runs in a dramatic final at CitiPower Centre, Melbourne. The season marked the 124th edition of Australia's premier first-class competition.

Liam Scott was named Sheffield Shield Player of the Year after amassing 496 runs and 23 wickets. Victoria topped the regular season table with seven wins but collapsed from 102 for 3 to 139 all out on the final day chasing 196, handing South Australia back-to-back championships. Nathan McAndrew was named Player of the Final for his 60 runs and six wickets across the match.
