This came a day after the league CEO, Salman Naseer, confirmed that Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host the opening game on March 26. Defending champions Lahore Qalandars will take on tournament debutants Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen.
PSL likely to be played across six venues
Naseer also confirmed that the full schedule will be announced this week, with eight teams set to play 44 games for the first time in the league's history. The first leg of the tournament will largely be played in Lahore, Naseer added.
The league is also expected to be played across six venues this year, with Peshawar and Faisalabad joining Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Multan. There were some reports that the league's final might be scheduled outside Pakistan; however, Naseer hinted that the idea will not be pursued this year.
One-week player transfer window
While it has not yet been officially confirmed, sources also claim that opening a one-week player transfer window is also being considered. During this period, teams would be allowed to trade players with other franchises in exchange for another player or a transfer fee.
