IPL 2026: Raipur Confirmed as Second Home Venue for Royal Challengers Bengaluru After M. Chinnaswamy Stadium
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) never really needed a second home. M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has been sufficient so far. Also, with Virat Kohli around, it is always a special place. IPL 2026 is going to be a little different. This is because RCB is going to play some of their matches outside Bengaluru. Not only that, they are going to take big matches to Raipur.
Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium is going to be their second home. They are going to take two big matches to Raipur. One is against Mumbai Indians on May 10. The other is against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 13.
It is going to be exciting matches. Mumbai Indians have big players like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav. KKR also has big players. Raipur is going to be like a big cricket festival with Virat Kohli around.
It is good news for Raipur. Matches are not often held in Raipur. It has been almost 10 years since IPL matches were held in Raipur. Delhi Capitals (earlier known as Delhi Daredevils) played their matches in Raipur 10 years ago. RCB matches were also held in Raipur in 2016.
RCB is not the only team doing this. Rajasthan Royals will be playing their matches in Guwahati, and Punjab Kings will be playing their matches in Dharamsala. The idea is quite simple. IPL is growing by playing matches in new cities. It will help teams connect more with their fans.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced that the IPL 2026 schedule will be released soon. There will be a total of 70 matches in the league phase. However, the venues for playoff matches are yet to be decided.
