IPL 2026 Mini-Auction Explained: Registration, Rules and Everything You Need to Know

The BCCI has not yet confirmed it yet, but the IPL 2026 mini-auction is expected to take place from December 13 to 15, 2025. It is hoped to take place in India, following the last two auctions that took place outside India (in Dubai in 2024, and Jeddah in 2025), hence avoiding management issues due to co- ordination because of travel.
Teams will need to prepare and submit their evaluations of retain and release by November 15, which then begins the first stage of the auction process. Once that policy is in place, the BCCI will compile the list for registered players, and then formalize when the players will be eligible to be part of the auction pool.
