India vs New Zealand: BCCI Squad Announcement Date, Shubman Gill Fit to Lead

The BCCI selection committee will meet in online meeting before january to announce India squad for the New Zealand tour. The leaders Ajit Agarkar, Shiv Sundar Das, Ajay Ratra, RP Singh, and Pragyan Ojha, will discuss the matter in an online meeting. Reports suggested that BCCI will name the team on January 2. But, according to the Times of India, the squad will come out on January 3 or 4. The selection committee had announced the T20I squad when the 15-man side was unveiled for the 2026 T20 World Cup on December 20.
The Indian heads are focusing on India ODI captain Shubman Gill, and his deputy, Shreyas Iyer. Both are not played last series du to major injuries.
BCCI to Announce India Squad Soon
Gill sustained another injury you would not believe this! But now he's recovered! Gill has been seen training at the PCA stadium (Mohali) as he prepares for the 2025/26 Vijay Hazare Trophy and it is safe to say he will no doubt lead the team against New Zealand. I am looking forward to how Gill performs after being left out of the World Cup squad for the T20 World Cup (T20I world cup).
As for Shreyas, there’s doubt over his recovery. He’s reported to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru and has started batting in the nets. But it’s uncertain whether he’ll be provided with a clean bill of health for the India vs New Zealand ODI series.
