Ajit Agarkar to Continue as Chairman, Ojha & RP Singh Join BCCI Selection Panel

Former India internationals Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh have been added to the senior men’s selection committee, taking over the roles left vacant by S. Sharath and Subroto Banerjee.
Ojha has played 24 Tests, 18 ODIs, and six T20Is for India, finishing with 144 wickets across all formats. In his domestic career, he played for Hyderabad, Bengal, and Bihar, and later served on the IPL Governing Council.
RP Singh, who is part of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup-winning squad. He has played 82 international matches and taken 124 wickets in his international career. After announcing his retirement, he served on the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) and subsequently worked as a television commentator.
“The two new members have been inducted into the panel, which will be headed by Agarkar", said BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.
Other former Indian players, including star player Praveen Kumar, Amay Khurasiya, Ashish Winston Zaidi, and Shakti Singh, had also applied for this but did not make the cut.
As per BCCI’s eligibility rules, a candidate must have played at least seven Tests, or 30 First-Class matches, or 10 ODIs, along with 20 First-Class games. Applicants should also have retired from professional cricket at least five years earlier and must not have spent more than five years in total on any BCCI cricket committee.

Sharath returns to the junior panel
BCCI has reinstated S. Sharath as the head of the junior selection committee, replacing V.S. Thilak Naidu. The junior panel also includes Harvinder Sodhi, Pathik Patel, Krishna Mohan, and Ranadeb Bose.
