Abhishek Sharma & Smriti Mandhana Named ICC Players of the Month

The Indian women's team vice-captain scored 308 runs in four ODIs at an average of 77 and a strike rate of 135.68. Abhishek said, "It feels great to win this ICC award, and I am glad that it has been awarded to me for some crucial matches in which I helped secure victories. I am proud to be part of a team that can win even in the most difficult circumstances.

Our recent record in T20 Internationals reflects our excellent team culture and positive mindset." The 25-year-old, who was named Player of the Tournament in the Asia Cup, also achieved her highest ever rating points in the T20 International batting rankings. She surpassed teammate Kuldeep Yadav and Zimbabwe's Brian Bennett to win the Cricketer of the Month award.

Mandhana, who is preparing for India's campaign in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, scored the fastest century by an Indian batsman during the Australia series when she reached the milestone off just 50 balls in the third match. South Africa's Tazmin Brits and Pakistan's Sidra Amin were also in the running for the award. Mandhana said, "As a player, such an honour motivates you to keep going and do better. My aim has always been to perform my best and win matches for the team."
