Abhishek Sharma and Smriti Mandhana Honored as ICC Players of the Month for September

India's star openers Abhishek Sharma and Smriti Mandhana were named ICC Players of the Month for September following their impressive performances in the Asia Cup and the women's ODI series against Australia, respectively. Abhishek scored 314 runs in seven matches at an average of 44.85 and a strike rate of 200. Mandhana also performed brilliantly in the home ODI series against Australia, scoring 58, 117, and 125 in three matches.
The Indian women's team vice-captain scored 308 runs in four ODIs at an average of 77 and a strike rate of 135.68. Abhishek said, "It feels great to win this ICC award, and I am glad that it has been awarded to me for some crucial matches in which I helped secure victories. I am proud to be part of a team that can win even in the most difficult circumstances.

Mandhana, who is preparing for India's campaign in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, scored the fastest century by an Indian batsman during the Australia series when she reached the milestone off just 50 balls in the third match. South Africa's Tazmin Brits and Pakistan's Sidra Amin were also in the running for the award. Mandhana said, "As a player, such an honour motivates you to keep going and do better. My aim has always been to perform my best and win matches for the team."
