Pakistan's Greatest Champions Trophy Journey

The champions' trophy, which was earlier called the ICC Knockout Trophy in 1998 and 2000, in both season, the Pakistan team reached the semi-finals but lost. While in the next two tournaments, in 2002 in Sri Lanka and 2004 in England, Pakistan couldn't play well and was out of the tournament from the group stage itself.

At the 4th Champions Trophy 2009 in South Africa, Pakistan managed to come back and reach the semi-finals but was defeated by West Indies. The team again reached the semi-finals in 2009. However, what happened in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy in England and Wales was the worst-ever Pakistani performance in the prestigious ICC tournament. Pakistan couldn't score even a single win in the whole tournament and was shamefully eliminated from the tournament.

Pakistan's wait for the Champions Trophy finally ended in 2017. The Pakistani team lifted the prestigious Trophy for the first time ever after defeating India by a massive 180 runs.
