Ghulam Shabber (born 12 December 1985) is a Pakistani-born former cricketer who represented the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. He made his List A debut in October 2016 against Oman, followed by his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Afghanistan in December 2016 and his One Day International (ODI) debut against Scotland in January 2017. During his career, he was named in the UAE squads for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two and the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, and played for the Toronto Nationals in the 2019 Global T20 Canada. However, his career ended abruptly and in controversy during the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier; he went missing before a match against Hong Kong and absconded to Pakistan. Although he announced his retirement citing poor remuneration and denied malpractice, he was suspended by the Emirates Cricket Board and subsequently handed a four-year ban from all cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for corruption in September 2021.
