IPL 2026 Auction: Most Valuable Buys from Prithvi Shaw to Sarfaraz Khan
The Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) auction has concluded with teams steal deals at the event taking place in Abu Dhabi. Even as there were a number of players who did not get bought at the auction involving 350 players who went under the hammer at the event on Tuesday, there were some players who proved to be valuable additions at the auction, which was smartly done by the teams at the auction table. From Sarfaraz Khan to David Miller, here’s a list of most valuable buys at the IPL 2026 auction.
The South Africa keeper-batter was included in the IPL 2026 auction list in the last moment because of his performance in the IND vs SA series in the white-ball formats. De Kock was snapped up for a steal deal of Rs 1 crore in the mini-auction by MI, which is the five-time champion of the IPL.
Quinton will not only provide an alternate option for keeping for MI along with Ryan Rickleton but will also provide experience of opening along with Rohit Sharma. The Mumbai batsman, who has been in scintillating form recently, was sold for a steal deal of only 75 lakhs to CSK.
Despite having a decent record in first-class domestic cricket, Sarfaraz Khan has not received any bid in the last two seasons of the IPL. His first ever ton in T20 cricket and following it up with an 18-ball and 15-ball fifty in SMAT is definitely getting him a spot in CSK. Sarfaraz Khan can prove out to be the best middle-order batsman who can help CSK, and a batsman who can change his position according to their needs.
Although Shaw has got some decent performances in the ongoing domestic season, it took him three rounds to get a team for the IPl 2026 auction, as he was bought for the base price of Rs 75 lakh in the third round to his previous team, the Delhi Capitals (DC).
He has played a total of 79 IPL matches, including almost 1900 runs in an average of 24, having hit 14 half-centuries so far. It is crucial to state that Prithvi Shaw has played a total of 7 seasons in the league to his previous team, the DC, but failed to get noticed by the team management regarding his redemption. Eventually, the DC management chose to buy Shaw when they bought him for the base price.
Delhi Capitals were able to secure a top deal with Killer Miller in the IPL 2023 auction. Miller was released by LSG in IPL 2025 due to their poor season. Nonetheless, Miller is known as a “destructive finisher” in the IPL. He still has it in him to inflict misery on other teams.
