Faheem Ashraf bags his worst T20 bowling figures in Vitality Blast
Faheem Ashraf has swung between extremes in the two Vitality Blast games he has played for Yorkshire so far.
A tale of two Faheem Ashrafs
In his opening game, the fast bowling all-rounder took a wicket for the bargain of only seven runs in two overs. This was after he scored 10 runs with the bat to hold one end as Yorkshire recovered from a fall of two quick wickets, including Jonny Bairstow.
But in his next game, it seemed a different Faheem Ashraf had turned up. The all-rounder conceded 60 runs in his quota of four overs. In games where he has bowled all four overs, this is Faheem's worst bowling figures in his T20 career so far.
While the figures might make the surface sound too flat for a fast bowler to reap rewards, Faheem's fellow Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali took three wickets in the game at the bargain of only 27 runs in four overs. In total, the pacers took nine of the 16 wickets that fell across both innings.
Yorkshire script their first defeat of the season
Yorkshire conceded 217 runs and could only get to 161 runs in response, succumbing 56 runs short of the target. Gloucestershire were at 194/6 before the final over, which Faheem bowled.
The Pakistani all-rounder had already given eight runs on the first three legal deliveries and then came the carnage as he was hit for one six and two fours by Gloucestershire's Duan Jansen.
