Deepti Sharma Likely to Be Released by UP Warriorz Ahead of WPL 2026 Mega Auction: Reports

WPL 2026Deepti Sharma, the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 ‘Player of the Series’ who took a record five-wicket haul and scored a fifty in the final, likely to released by UP Warriorz ahead of the WPL mega auction. After two weak seasons, the team retained only uncapped Shweta Sehrawat, but they still have the option to retain Deepti. UP Warriorz will enter the auction with Rs 14.5 crore and four Right to Match (RTM) cards.

As per sources, with Deepti Sharma in the form of her life, UP Warriorz may spend big to get her back in the auction. She was earlier retained for Rs 2.6 crore and is India’s second-most expensive WPL player. Along with Deepti, the team has released captain Alyssa Healy, who missed last season due to injury and other key players including Georgia Voll, Grace Harris, Tahlia McGrath, Alana King, Uma Chetry, Kranti Gaud and Sophie Ecclestone.

Unlike UP Warriorz, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians have kept the most players (5 each) before the auction and will enter the auction with Rs 5.75 crore each. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) retained four players, can use one RTM card, and have Rs 6.25 crore for the auction. Gujarat Giants kept two overseas players and can use three RTM cards for Indian players.
