Chris Gayle Returns to Kashmir as IHPL Premier League Lights Up Bakshi Stadium

The Valley is getting ready for an exciting cricket event as the first-ever Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL) starts on October 25 at Srinagar's famous Bakshi Stadium. Top international players and local talents will play in this two-week T20 tournament. Cricket star Chris Gayle, also called the 'Universe Boss', has excited fans again by announcing he will come back to play in Kashmir for the tournament.

“Srinagar, what’s up! It’s Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss himself, and I’m here with some exciting news. I will be a part of the Indian Heaven Premier League that kicks off on October 25 until November 8... You're going to see lots of superstars and more big names added to the tournament as well," Gayle said.
"It’s gonna be at Bakshi Stadium... yes, grab your tickets now! There will be lots of fun and excitement," he added.
J&K's Parvez Rasool will play with Devon Smith for Ladakh Heroes. Imran Tahir and Peter Trego will join Patnitop Warriors. Niroshan Dickwella will play for Srinagar Sultan, and Thisara Perera with Christopher Mpofu will be in Gulmarg Royals.
Chris Gayle is coming back, bringing back memories of his first match in Kashmir during the Legends League Cricket 2024, when around 30,000 fans came to Bakshi Stadium to see him play.
"This time it's going to be bigger, louder, and more electric. We saw what happened last year when Gayle played. The whole city was alive with excitement. Seeing world-class players perform on our home ground is a dream come true," said Aqib Lone.

League structure: Eight franchises with a mix of international and domestic players.
