In anticipation of the IPL 2025 auction, Punjab Kings have retained batters Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh for the upcoming season. Prabhsimran, with 756 runs in 34 games at an average of 22.24 and a strike rate of 146.23, has been a consistent performer for the team since 2019. Similarly, Shashank impressed last season, scoring 354 runs in 14 games at an average of 44.25 and a strike rate of 164.65.

Looking forward to the auction, Punjab Kings CEO Satish Menon expressed the franchise's primary goal of securing silverware in the upcoming season. He praised the team's new head coach Ricky Ponting, lauding him as one of the brightest minds in cricket. Menon emphasized the importance of the upcoming auction, highlighting the team's substantial purse and their commitment to building a formidable squad under Ponting's guidance.

"Our objective is to clinch the silverware this year – nothing less," stated Menon in a release from Punjab Kings. He also emphasized the team's confidence in Prabhsimran Singh's development and potential contribution to the team's success.
