WPL 2026 Schedule Announced: BCCI Confirms 4th Edition from Jan 9 to Feb 5 Across Two Cities
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will take place in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara from 9 January to 5 February. WPL chairman Jayesh George shared the dates and venues after giving the opening speech at the WPL mega auction in New Delhi on Thursday, 27 November.
The WPL was expected to move to a home-and-away format this season, especially after the Women’s World Cup 2025 created strong interest in India. But the BCCI still needs more time before taking the league to more cities. While teams were fighting to sign big players like Meg Lanning and Deepti Sharma in New Delhi, the BCCI confirmed the dates and venues for the tournament.
The 2026 WPL season will follow the same format as before. The first matches will be played in Navi Mumbai, and later the tournament will move to Vadodara for the final matches, including the final. The season will start at the stadium that hosted the Women’s World Cup final, where India beat South Africa to win their first world title.
Last year, the WPL was held in four cities, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Vadodara. The final was played at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, where Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals. With this win, Harmanpreet Kaur’s team became the first team to win the WPL twice.
In 2026, India will host two big cricket tournaments one after the other. After the WPL, India will host the men’s T20 World Cup in five cities, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Kolkata. Sri Lanka will co-host and will host the important India–Pakistan match in Colombo. The 20-team World Cup will take place from 7 February to 8 March.
