WPL 2025 Points Table: Updated Standings After Mumbai Indians vs UP Warriorz ClashNat Sciver-Brunt is making a strong case for the ‘Player of the Series’ award in this Women’s Premier League season. On Wednesday, she led Mumbai Indians to an easy eight-wicket win over UP Warriorz at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru with an unbeaten half-century and a brilliant three-wicket haul for just 18 runs. Sciver-Brunt dazzled with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 75 off 44 balls and sending the ball to all corners of the ground. The Warriorz could do little but watch as she put on a show for nearly 10,000 fans, many of whom were wearing Royal Challengers Bengaluru jerseys but waving MI flags.

During her innings, she overtook Ellyse Perry to claim the Orange Cap. She and Hayley Matthews put together a solid 133-run partnership for the second wicket after Deepti Sharma dismissed Yastika Bhatia for a duck in the fourth over. Matthews (59 off 50 balls) got a lucky break early in Mumbai Indians' innings when Sophie Ecclestone dropped a catch at first slip off Chinelle Henry’s bowling in the third over. At that point, Matthews had only scored two runs. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur sealed the chase in style, finishing it off in just 17 overs with a fortunate boundary.

With this win, Mumbai Indians temporarily moved to the top of the standings, overtaking Delhi Capitals with six points from four matches. Earlier, Deepti Sharma and her team looked confident while batting first, especially after scoring 177 runs in a winning effort against DC on this very ground.

Australian all-rounder Grace Harris was promoted to open the innings for the first time this season, partnering with Kiran Navgire. However, Kiran’s struggles with short balls continued, as she mistimed a pull shot straight to Shabnim Ismail at mid-on off Nat Sciver-Brunt’s bowling. Coming in at No. 3, Vrinda Dinesh (33 off 30 balls) steadied the innings alongside Harris, putting together a solid 79-run partnership for the second wicket. While Vrinda found her runs mostly through the cover and point regions, Harris looked right at home at the top of the order—just as she does when playing for Brisbane Heat in the WBBL.

However, Mumbai Indians struck back when Amelia Kerr dismissed Harris for 45 off 26 balls. That wicket turned the game around, as MI ripped through the batting lineup, picking up four wickets for just 12 runs. Sanskriti Gupta (2/11 in two overs) and Kerr (1/24) applied the brakes, restricting the run flow and piling pressure on the batting side. Among the middle-order batters, birthday girl Shweta Sehrawat was the top scorer with a quick 19 off 13 balls. However, Chinelle Henry (7 off 8 balls) and last match’s hero Sophie Ecclestone (6 off 8 balls) couldn’t make an impact.
