The Hundred 2026 auction: Country-wise player list, rules, and where to watch
The Hundred has moved to an auction-based player acquisition model for the first time this season, with more than 400 players going under the hammer. The auction is scheduled to take place on March 11-12 at Piccadilly Lights.
Women’s auction will go first, with the auction beginning at 10 am GMT and ending at 4 PM GMT.
Rules:
The auction begins with the Marquee players, who are divided into domestic and international groups, with the former auctioned first.
After the Marquee players, the auction will move to Tier One players and then Tier Two players, collectively making up the “Hero” player phase. Once those names have gone under the hammer, each side would shortlist up to 25 players, including players unsold in the Hero phase.
The players nominated the most times by the teams will become the “ranked players”, and teams will then bid for them.
After that stage, the nominated player round will begin, where teams select from the remaining player pool, with the order decided by a random draw.
This means not every player on the longlist will be brought up for sale, as those near the bottom of the list will only be auctioned if teams still have squad spots available. The allowed squad size for men's teams is 16-18 players and 15 for women's teams.
