Sri Lanka Players to Undergo Fitness Checks Before IPL 2026, NOCs to Be Issued Soon
There are mixed updates about the Sri Lanka players for the 2026 season of the IPL. Earlier, it was said that Matheesha Pathirana would be joining KKR. However, now the plans are changed. Nuwan Thushara is injured. This might cause a problem for RCB. The plans of Wanindu Hasaranga and Eshan Malinga are also not very clear.

Fitness tests for the Sri Lanka players are to be conducted next week before giving the approval to play the IPL. The fitness tests are scheduled to take place on Monday and Tuesday.
There are players who are physically fit. Dushmantha Chameera, Pathum Nissanka, and Kamindu Mendis are ready. They may play the opening match between RCB and SRH on the 28th of March.

The BCCI is going to hold a meeting of the captains and coaches. The venue of the meeting is Mumbai. It is going to be held on the 25th of March. There is no delay. It is going to be held from 12 to 6.
In the meeting, the teams are going to discuss the rules and the playing conditions. Major changes are not expected. However, new rules may be introduced regarding the jerseys, equipment, and promotions.
