Sri Lanka and England confirm availability for the Pakistan ODI tri-series

by mishaalmubarak

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has reportedly agreed to participate in a tri-series involving England and hosts Pakistan in October-November this year. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had already agreed to be a part of the said series, and both boards awaited Sri Lanka’s response.

If finalised, this will be the fourth tri-nation series involving Pakistan since the start of 2025, the most by any full-member nation.

According to the Future Tours Programme (FTP), Pakistan are scheduled to host Sri Lanka during the same window for three T20Is and two Tests. The tri-series is expected to fit midway through the tour after the T20I leg.

Pakistan’s tri-series

Last year, Pakistan also hosted the New Zealand and South Africa national cricket teams in an ODI tri-series in the build-up to the Champions Trophy. Besides that, the team also played two T20I tri-series, involving Afghanistan and UAE in August, followed by Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in November last year.

Currently, they are busy gearing up for a red-ball series in Bangladesh. The two-match Test series will begin on May 8 in Dhaka. This will be their first Test series since October 2025, when they played two long-format matches against South Africa.

Pakistan are also gearing up to host Australia in a three-match ODI series later this month, starting May 30. The series will be played at two venues, including Lahore and Rawalpindi, where the side will play a white-ball game for the first time since 1994.
