Shubman Gill Moves to No.2 in ICC ODI Rankings; Rohit and Kohli Drop Spots

Shubman Gill Edges Closer to ICC ODI No.1 Spot, Overtaking Rohit Sharma and Closing Gap on Babar Azam

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the ODI rankings. Four Indian batters were in the top 10 of this ODI batsman rankings. The star Indian vice-captain Shubman Gill moved to the second position in the ICC ODI batsman rankings.

The 25-year-old has been in great form during the ODI series against England. Shubman Gill has 781 rating points, just behind Pakistan's Babar Azam, who holds the top spot with 786 points. Gill jumped one spot to No.2, pushing India captain Rohit Sharma to No.3.

Shreyas Iyer entered the top 10 after scoring a quick half-century against England in the first ODI match at Nagpur. Iyer joined the ICC ODI top 10 batting list along with his teammates Shubman, Rohit, and Kohli.

The star Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and the star batter Virat Kohli were the only Indian players to drop spots in the ranking list. Rohit dropped to No. 3, while Kohli dropped two places to No. 6.
