PCB announces schedule for Pakistan’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka
Pakistan women will travel to Sri Lanka to play three ODIs followed by as many T20Is in Hambantota.
The white-ball series will begin on July 23 with the final T20I scheduled for August 4. All games will be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Hambantota.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka neck-and-neck
This will be Pakistan’s third ODI assignment in the ongoing Women’s Championship. Pakistan currently sit second in the points table after winning four of their six matches.
They recently bagged a 3-0 clean sweep over Zimbabwe at home. Before that, they defeated South Africa in the third and final game of their away ODI series.
Interestingly, Sri Lanka share the same numbers in the Championship. They have won four and lost two games out of their six matches so far and sit in the third spot with eight points. In the teams’ recent face-off during the Women’s T20 World Cup warm-up matches, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by nine wickets.
Overall, Sri Lanka have won 22 ODI games against Pakistan out of the 34 times they have faced each other. With one game ending without a result, Pakistan won the remaining eleven.
In WT20Is, though, Pakistan are marginally better in the head-to-head record. Out of 21 games, Pakistan have won 11 while Sri Lanka were the better side in nine.
