Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced that every player from Pakistan’s Under-19 team will receive PKR 10 million (about INR 3.20 crore) as a reward for winning the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 and defeating India, as reported by The Times of India. Courtesy of Sameer Minhas’ 172-run knock at the ICC Academy and the fast bowler, Pakistan beat India by 191 runs at the ICC Academy in Dubai.

Minhas didn’t just win the ‘Player of the Match’ but also the ‘Player of the Series’ award. Later, head coach Shahid Anwar stated that Pakistan had been planning for the tournament for the last 6 months.

“The process started in June when we picked around 70 players after trials and then reduced the number to 20. Most of these players were then given chances to play 50-over cricket at the domestic level,” Anwar said.

On December 22, Sharif held a special event in Islamabad to honour the players and officials. At the event, the Pakistan Prime Minister announced a cash reward of ₹48 crore for the 15-member team. Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who was the Under-19 team’s mentor and manager, confirmed this to the media.
