On This Day in 2021: India’s Historic Gabba Victory and Epic Test Win Against AustraliaOn January 19, 2021, the Indian cricket team made history by defeating Australia by three wickets in the fourth Test at the Gabba in Brisbane. Australia lost their 32-year unbeaten streak record at the Brisbane with India's win.

Australia set a huge target of 328 runs to India. India chased the target with the loss of seven wickets. This win was the fifth-highest successful run chase in Australia. This win was very special in Indian cricket history because the young Indian team did this historic feat in Australia. As we celebrate this incredible win let's see some highlights of this thrilling Brisbane Test from 2021.

Australia started their first innings very well, their captain Tim Paine contributed 50 runs and Marnus Labuschagne played an excellent knock of 108 runs, Australia posted 369 runs in their first innings. Indian bowlers Shardul, Sundar, and Natarajan took three wickets each.

While India playing their first innings Shardul and Sundar performed well with the bat by scoring half-centuries. India scored 336 runs in their first innings. Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood was the star of their bowling unit by taking a 5-wicket haul.

In Australia's second innings, Australia all out for 294 runs with the help of Smith's half-century. Siraj delivered a match-winning performance by taking a five-wicket haul. Shardul also bowled very well and Australia set a target of 328 for India.

In the second innings, India didn't begin well, as Rohit was dismissed for just seven runs. However, Pujara and Gill steadied the innings by scoring a half-century each. But Pant played a heroic innings with his aggressive batting style to win the match.

Pant remains unbeaten at 89, and India beat Australia by three wickets at Gabba. Pant's aggressive 138-ball innings included nine boundaries and a six, making him the architect of this memorable win against Australia. With this win, India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy again.
