ODI Batting Rankings 2025: Shubman Gill Leads, Rohit & Kohli Absent Due to Glitch

On Wednesday, August 20, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were no longer seen in the ICC ODI rankings. The two Indian stars, who are not playing in T20s or Tests right now, were removed from the ODI rankings list.

Just a week ago, Rohit had climbed to the 2nd spot in the ODI rankings. Kohli was sitting at 4th place with 736 points. At the top, Shubman Gill stayed firm as the No. 1 ODI batter with 756 points. The updated rankings, which saw Babar Azam at No.2, are confirmed to have suffered a glitch in the system. Sharma and Kohli, as of August 20, 2025, are still active in the ODI format.

Rohit and Kohli Missing from ODI Rankings After Technical Glitch

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli last played in the ODI format in February, 2025, where they played the Champions Trophy in the UAE. Rohit played a sensational innings in the final of the tournament, guiding India to their first ICC ODI trophy in a decade.

Kohli on the other hand, was sensational in the group stages of the tournament, anchoring the Indian team in tricky conditions of the Dubai International Stadium, where teams like New Zealand and Australia gave the Men in Blue a run for their money.
