Mumbai Seal Ranji Semi-Final Spot with Stellar Performances from Dias, Rahane, and Shardul

In the recent Ranji Trophy quarter-finals, the Mumbai team dominated Haryana with a 153-run win at the Eden Gardens. The star fast bowler Royston Dias helped Mumbai by taking five wickets. With this victory over Haryana in the quarter-finals, Mumbai confirmed their spot in the semi-finals.
The star Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur was the other key bowler for Mumbai, who took 6 for 58 in the first innings and finished with overall figures of 9 for 84. Mumbai’s win was even more impressive because they had struggled early, slipping to 94 for 6 on the first morning.
But the star all-rounder Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani together built an important 165-run partnership for the eighth wicket, helping Mumbai post a massive 315 in their first innings. In replay, Haryana looked strong with captain Ankit Kumar scoring an amazing 136. However, after reaching 218 for 3, the Haryana collapsed and were bowled out for 301, giving Mumbai a slim 14-run lead.

In the Mumbai second innings, former India captain Ajinkya Rahane scored an amazing century in 160 balls in his 200th first-class game. Rahane built an important 129-run partnership with the Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav. After Suryakumar Yadav got out at 229/4, Rahane found another strong partner in Shivam Dube. The duo added 85 runs off 124 balls, Haryana also suffered a setback as seamer Ajit Chahal was injured and couldn’t bowl in the second innings.
Mumbai looked set for a massive lead of over 400 but lost six wickets for just 25 runs on the fourth morning, setting Haryana a target of 354. However, Haryana never looked in control of the chase and quickly slipped to 60 for 5. Opener Lakshay Dalal fought back with 64, while Sumit Kumar added 62 in a brief 90-run partnership for the sixth wicket. But once that stand was broken, Mumbai wrapped up the match without any trouble.
