Litton Das returns as part of Bangladesh’s 15-man squad for ODIs against Pakistan
Bangladesh national cricket team have announced their 15-man squad for the three-match ODI series against Pakistan, set to begin on March 11.
Das returns despite woeful form
Litton Das, who was dropped from the format in July last year and missed the ODI series against West Indies national cricket team in October, has been recalled. Alongside him, Afif Hossain and pacers Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana are also part of the squad.
Das was sidelined due to his low returns in the format. His lean patch, however, is far from over, and Bangladesh are reportedly considering moving him down the order.
Afif’s stuck gold in domestic
Afif, on the other hand, has domestic performances backing him. He averaged 64 in three matches of the Bangladesh Cricket League One-Day and is understood to be in Bangladesh’s plans as a late-order batter for the series.
From the squad that faced West Indies, Nurul Hasan, Jaker Ali, Shamim Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Nasum Ahmed have been excluded. Tanzim (back pain) and Hasan (right tennis elbow) are nursing their respective injuries.
The series will run from March 11-15, with all games set to be played at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Dhaka.
