List of all Pakistan players shortlisted for the Hundred auction

by mishaalmubarak

Sixteen out of 67 Pakistan players who registered for the upcoming Hundred auction on March 11-12 have been included in the longlist. This includes two women, who, if roped in, would be the first Pakistani women to do so, and fourteen men’s cricketers.

Rauf among marquee players

Haris Rauf, who was not part of the T20 World Cup squad, is the only Pakistani among the International Marquee players of the league. Besides him, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Tariq, and Saim Ayub will enter the auction at the highest base price of the league, £100,000.

Out of four women players, including Muneeba Ali and Diana Baig, Fatima Sana and Sadia Iqbal are the cricketers from the country included in the final list. The two players registered at a price of £15,000.

Reports of shadow ban

The list was published almost a week after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Hundred franchises issued a joint statement confirming that players will be selected without any discrimination based on “ethnicity, gender, faith, nationality or otherwise.” The statement came in response to reports in the English media that IPL-linked franchises in the Hundred were considering leaving out Pakistan players.
