In the 48th game of the Indian Premier League 2026, Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Delhi started poorly and lost quick wickets. They were at 69/5 but recovered through contributions from Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi to make 155/7.
Chennai achieved the target with ease. Sanju Samson played a superb innings scoring 87* from 52 deliveries and stayed till the end to finish the match. This win is significant for Chennai. It will take their tally to 10 points and keep them alive in the race for playoffs. Delhi are in bad shape, being seventh at 8 points. Considering the table is tightening, Chennai's impressive net run rate in this match can be valuable going forward.
