IND vs AUS 3rd T20: Washington Sundar’s unbeaten 49 and Arshdeep Singh’s 3-wicket haul help India beat Australia by 5 wickets

The Indian team has won the third match of the T20 series against Australia. Suryakumar Yadav's team won by 5 wickets at Bellerive Oval in Hobart. Batting first, Australia had scored 186 for 6. Jitesh Sharma, playing in place of Sanju Samson, contributed 22 runs, facing 13 balls. Sundar and Jitesh shared an unbeaten 43-run partnership off 25 balls. Earlier, Abhishek Sharma gave the team a solid start. However, he failed to deliver a big innings, scoring just 25 runs off 16 balls, hitting two fours and two sixes. Shubman Gill scored 15 runs. Captain Suryakumar Yadav smashed 24 runs off just 11 balls. Tilak Verma scored 24 runs, while Axar Patel scored 17 runs. David and Stoinis' bats spoke.

Tim David and Marcus Stoinis batted explosively for Australia. David scored 74, while Stoinis scored 64. David hit five sixes and eight fours in his 38-ball innings, while Stoinis hit two sixes and eight fours in his 39-ball innings. Arshdeep Singh (3/35) and Varun Chakravarthy (2/33) had Australia at 74 for four, but David and Stoinis played quickfire knocks to lift the hosts to a strong total.

Arshdeep Singh dismissed Head and Inglis. India won the toss and elected to bowl first, and Arshdeep gave the visitors a solid start by taking two wickets in two overs. Playing his first match of the series, India's most successful bowler in this format, Arshdeep dismissed Travis Head (6) and Josh Inglis (1) in consecutive overs to reduce Australia to 14 for two in the third over.

David then unleashed a blistering batting display, targeting all the Indian bowlers. He hit four of his five sixes straight down the order, including a six over the covers off Axar. Chakravarthy dismissed captain Mitchell Marsh (11) and Mitchell Owen (0) in consecutive balls to reduce Australia to 73 for four. David reached his half-century in just 23 balls. Stoinis also hit two consecutive sixes off Dube in the 13th over, but was caught by Tilak Varma at long off in the same over. Stoinis completed his half-century in 32 balls with three fours off Arshdeep in the 18th over.
