ECB cancels series against Pakistan Shaheens amid rising conflict

The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has called off the remainder of the England Lions vs Pakistan Shaheens tour due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The two teams were scheduled to play a five-match 50-over series following the completion of three T20s.
Tour called off amid security concerns
Only one 50-over game took place before tensions escalated between the USA and Iran, leading to the suspension of the series. The second 50-over match was subsequently cancelled, leaving the fate of the series in limbo.
In addition, the ECB has cancelled its Women’s teams training camp in the UAE ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
An ECB statement read:
"The remainder of the England Men's Lions' tour has been cancelled, and we are working to get everyone home as soon as possible.”
“We have ruled out the possibility of the England Women's T20 World Cup camp taking place in Abu Dhabi, given the instability across the Gulf. Over the weekend, we started work on alternative options that will enable England Women to achieve the same outcomes, and we'll keep you informed as soon as we finalise a new plan."
Pakistan women’s team stuck in South Africa
Meanwhile, with key airspaces closed, Pakistan’s women’s team is also stranded in South Africa following the conclusion of their white-ball series on Sunday.
