Disappointing Returns: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant Dismissed for Single-Digit Scores in Ranji TrophyIn the Ranji Trophy, the game was tough for the senior cricket players from India, with the experienced batters failing to perform. Rohit Sharma, who is the team captain. Sharma scored only 3 runs with 19 balls. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 5 runs in 8 balls. Shubman Gill also got out by scoring 4 runs in 8 balls. Rishabh Pant had trouble too, he scored just one run in 10 balls. It wasn't a good day for these popular players during the sixth part of the Ranji Trophy games.

Rohit Sharma was playing Ranji Trophy for the first time in about ten years, and he was attempting to hit the ball in an important match for Mumbai against a team from Jammu and Kashmir. The game happened on a Thursday morning, and it was at the BKC Ground in Mumbai. Rohit used to be incredibly skilled at hitting the ball, but now his performance is bad. The men who were bowling the balls to him, Auqib Nabi and Umar Nazir from Jammu and Kashmir, made it very hard for him to hit. Even though Rohit is usually wonderful, he seemed somewhat off. The captain of the Mumbai team, Ajinkya Rahane, decided to choose to bat first.

Rohit Sharma started the game with getting one run when he faced Nabi. But then, he had a hard time. Nazir was bowling carefully and didn't give Rohit a chance to hit the ball well. The ball was hit toward Rohit and struck him on the arm after bouncing oddly, causing him pain. Nazir has always been proficient at cricket. He was the only left-arm bowler on the team from Jammu and Kashmir that beat Mumbai a long time ago in the Ranji Trophy. Rohit tried to distract Nazir to make him bowl poorly, but it didn't work. Nazir's bowling is good and Rohit couldn't hit the ball.

On the second last ball of the sixth over, Nazir bowled one that was short and wide. Rohit, recalling his attempt to tackle Pat Cummins’ delivery in the first innings of the Melbourne Test, lifted his front leg and went for a short-arm pull shot. But just like at the MCG, the ball climbed on him, and instead of a controlled shot, all Rohit could manage was to sky the ball straight to mid-off.

Jaiswal and Gill also failed

Nabi took Rohit's wicket with a single-digit score. Nabi is extremely proficient at taking wickets for Jammu and Kashmir. He bowls a ball and hits Jaiswal's leg when Jaiswal is too far back. Jaiswal should have stepped forward but he didn't. He tried for a great shot early in the game but it didn't work out. Nabi clapped when Jaiswal had to leave the game.

Shubman Gill, who is proficient at batting and played at number 3 in Ranji Trophy, before that game, Gill last played for Punjab in July 2022 in Ranji Trophy. Gill finally got to play in Bengaluru at Chinnaswamy Stadium. But it wasn't a good day for him because when he tried to play for his team Punjab against Karnataka, he could only score 4 runs.

In Rajkot, Rishabh Pant, a senior cricket player, was playing to make a lot of runs for Delhi in their game against Saurashtra. Pant is usually very good at hitting the ball, but now he had a tough time. Pant only scored 1 run in the 10 balls. It wasn't great for him either.
