India refuse to take Asia Cup trophy from ACC chief Naqvi

The Indian cricket team declined to accept the Asia Cup 2025 trophy during the post-match ceremony after it was announced that the award would be presented by ACC president and Pakistani Minister Mohsin Naqvi. As a result, the trophy was not handed over to the Indian team, who were seen celebrating without the silverware.

India won their ninth Asia Cup after beating Pakistan by five wickets in a close final in Dubai. Chasing 147 runs, Tilak Varma played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 69 runs.

Pakistan had a strong start with an 84-run opening stand between Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46), but they were bowled out for 146, with Kuldeep Yadav taking four wickets.

India’s chase was shaky at first, falling to 20/3, but Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson added 57 runs to steady the innings. Later, Tilak and Shivam Dube’s partnership guided India to their ninth Asia Cup title.
