Sri Lanka's former captain, Angelo Mathews, was shocked to learn that the country will play only four test matches, including two against Australia, this year(2025).

Australia & WTC
Sri Lanka will play two test matches against Australia in January and February. The first match will start on 29 January, and the second will be played from 6 to 10 February at Galle International Stadium. This series could have been important if Australia had lost the last test match against India. With the result of this series, the trio of India, Australia, or Sri Lanka could have reached the WTC Finals.
