The Uganda Cricket Cranes, the men’s national cricket team representing Uganda internationally, are governed by the Uganda Cricket Association. The Association has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council since 1998.

Uganda’s cricket history dates back to 1914 when they first fielded an international team against East Africa Protectorate, but they did not begin competing regularly until the early 1950s. During this time, Uganda played frequent series against regional rivals Kenya and Tanzania (then Tanganyika). Starting in 1966, Uganda contributed players to a combined East African team, which later became the East and Central Africa team in 1989. 

Uganda’s first ICC tournament as an independent team was the 2001 ICC Trophy in Canada. Over the next several editions of the ICC World Cup Qualifier tournament, formerly called the ICC Trophy, Uganda participated but did not qualify for the Cricket World Cup. In the World Cricket League, Uganda reached ICC World Cricket League Division Two three times but was relegated to Division Three each time. 

The team competed in six ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier tournaments. After finishing 2nd in the 2023 Africa Qualifier, they qualified for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, marking Uganda’s first-ever qualification for the ICC T20 World Cup.
