In 2009 IPL took the decision to become Bath Rugby's main sponsor in order to raise its profile following a Management Buy Out, and to deliver a statement of intent regarding IPL's future business plans and its commitment to the people and city of Bath. Since then both club and company have gone from strength to strength: for IPL, securing several new strategic customers and national level projects, and for the club, a new management team.
For the 2011/12 season IPL will move to a new sponsorship contract as the club's Official Business Partner. As Business Partner, IPL hopes to continue to achieve wider awareness of IPL's Information Technology services within the business community both locally and nationally.
As part of the agreement IPL will brand the South Stand and the corporate hospitality boxes, and will work with the club to organise high–profile business events.
