Ranji Trophy 2024/25: Delhi Faces Must-Win Clash Against Saurashtra, Rishabh Pant Set to Lead

The Ranji Trophy is going to resume on January 23, 2024. All the teams are getting ready to play the last part of the first games. But, the Delhi team has to win their next approach against Saurashtra, if they loose they are out of tournament. They only secured one win, losing the other three games, which resulted in a tie. This makes it a crucial match for Delhi.

Rishabh Pant is the captain of the Delhi team in this important game. This is really great because it's been seven years since he last played in the Ranji Trophy. The last time he played was long ago, in the 2017-18 season when they played against Vidarbha. Everyone is very thrilled because having Pant back would be wonderful for Delhi.

The Times of India said there's going to be a major meeting about cricket tomorrow. They're going to discuss who can be on the team. A representative from the DDCA mentioned that Rishabh Pant is likely to be appointed as the captain for their upcoming away game against Saurashtra. They will inform about the team on Friday, January 17.

No updates about Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli Ex-captain for the India cricket team. Kohli may play in some crucial matches for Delhi in the upcoming Ranji Trophy. But we don't know if he'll play definitively. People have been upset because the senior players didn't play in Ranji Trophy in India. After the India team lost two important series in the last three months people discussed it even more. The worst was when they lost all three matchs against New Zealand at their home series. Kohli has been getting in a really bad situation because he hasn't played well.

He played a top-rate game in November when he hundred runs in the first Test match in Perth against Australia. But then, in the following matches he played, he scored only 90 runs. He had a hard time because he wasn't good at playing the outside of the off-stump balls. Delhi still has to play two more games with their teams before they're done with this part. One of the games is with Saurashtra and their last game is with Railways on January 30.
