KL Rahul Set for IPL Auction Windfall Despite Strike-Rate Criticism

Multiple reports indicate that KL Rahul is poised to be released by the Lucknow Super Giants, making him a prime candidate for the IPL 2025 auction. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra predicts that Rahul will command a significant price, potentially between ₹25 crore and ₹30 crore, as franchises show keen interest in top wicketkeeper-batsmen.

While Rahul has been scrutinized for his strike rate, particularly after a dip to 113.22 in IPL 2023, Chopra believes this will not hinder his market value. He bounced back with a strike rate of 136.13 in the 2024 season, maintaining an overall strike rate of 134.61 across 132 IPL matches. "Rishabh Pant will attract big money, and the same goes for KL Rahul. He's a consistent performer, scoring 500-600 runs each season," Chopra noted on his YouTube channel, suggesting that franchises like CSK, Bengaluru, and others with whom Rahul has strong ties will be interested in acquiring him.
