Harbhajan Singh Criticizes India's Pitch Conditions After Defeat
Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has expressed his disappointment with the pitch conditions during the India-New Zealand Test series. He pointed out that the spin-friendly pitches in Pune and Mumbai favored New Zealand spinners, leading to Indian batters struggling against the turning ball. As India collapsed to 121 all out while chasing 146 in the third Test, Harbhajan remarked that India had created problems for themselves by preparing such pitches.
"Dug a grave for someone else, but fell yourself," Harbhajan commented on the spin-friendly conditions.
Looking ahead to the tour of Australia, Harbhajan mentioned that the pitches there are expected to be more conducive to good cricket. He emphasized the importance of providing balanced conditions for Test cricket to thrive, expressing concern over matches ending in just a few days due to extreme pitch conditions.
"If India plays on good cricket wickets, the Indian batters will perform better," Harbhajan emphasized.
