Yuzvendra Chahal & Dhanashree Verma Divorce Rumors Denied by Lawyer
There are rumors going around about Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, Dhanashree Verma, getting a divorce. Some reports say that they have already completed the legal process at the Bandra Family Court on Thursday. Dhanashree’s lawyer, Aditi Mohoni, has denied these claims, saying that the case is still ongoing and nothing has been finalized yet.
According to reports Chahal and Dhanashree were asked to attend a counseling session for around 45 minutes with the duo informing the judge they were seeking divorce due to ‘compatibility issues’ and that they had been living separately for the past 18 months. Chahal and Dhanashree arrived at the court around 11 AM, and the final verdict was announced at 4:30 PM.
Chahal, who has played 72 ODIs and 80 T20Is for India, tied the knot with choreographer Dhanashree in December 2020.
Their journey began during the COVID-19 lockdown when Chahal reached out to Dhanashree for dance lessons, and that connection eventually led to their marriage. The two eventually started dating before getting married.
Amid reports that their divorce has been finalized, both Chahal and Dhanashree have shared posts on their Instagram accounts.
“God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there, even when I don’t know it. Amen," read a post shared by Chahal.
On the other hand, Dhanashree wrote, “From Stressed To Blessed. Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you’re stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying, or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good."
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma have not yet made any official statement regarding their divorce being finalized. Meanwhile, some reports suggest that Chahal might have to pay an alimony of ₹60 crore.
On the cricketing front, Chahal is set to make his return to competitive cricket next month when he plays for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.
