WTC 2025 Final Prize Money: How Much Did South Africa Earn After Beating Australia?

 

South Africa concluded their World Test Championship journey in style by beating Australia by five wickets in the final at Lord’s. They lifted the WTC mace and walked away with USD $3.6 million, thanks to the ICC boosting the prize pool to a record USD $5.76 million. Australia, as runners-up still pocketed a healthy USD $2.16 million.

The Proteas got to the final on the back of solid wins against Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, plus a hard-fought drawn series at home against India. Their steady play and team spirit helped them finish top of the WTC table and become the first side to book a spot in the title match.

Australia also put together a strong run, sealing their final berth with a 3-1 win over India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. They followed that up with a 3-0 sweep of Pakistan at home and away series victories in New Zealand and Sri Lanka. In the end, though, South Africa just had that extra edge when it mattered most.
